Design the seating arrangement around how you actually use the room — conversation-focused seating, TV-focused seating, or a mix — rather than a generic showroom layout.
Layered lighting over a single ceiling light
Combining ambient ceiling lighting, a floor or table lamp, and accent lighting (on a shelf or wall feature) makes a room feel considered rather than functional.
A restrained material palette
Two or three core materials and colours, repeated consistently, generally read as more premium than five different finishes competing for attention.
