Home Interior Transformation: What Before & After Really Involves
"Before and after" is often shown as a single dramatic reveal, but it's really a series of specific changes. Here's what typically happens at each stage.
From builder-standard to designed
The starting point is usually a functional but generic builder-finish flat — basic tiling, standard electrical points, no false ceiling. The transformation is a sequence of deliberate design decisions layered on top, not a single change.
Structural and finishing changes
False ceiling, feature walls, upgraded flooring in select areas, and civil changes where needed are usually the most visually significant part of the transformation.
Furniture and styling as the final layer
Furniture, soft furnishings and accessories are what make a space feel finished and lived-in — this is usually the last stage, after all structural and finishing work is complete.
